  7. INSTALLATION FROM DISTRIBUTION DISK:
  8.    
  9.    The  OPPL program and data files must be installed on the same
  10.    drive  and  directory where OPPM.EXE is located.   First,  set
  11.    your  default  drive and directory to the drive and  directory
  12.    where OPPM.EXE is located.  Example:  if OPPM is installed  on
  13.    C:\OPPM5 type the following commands.

  16.          CD \OPPM5
  17.    
  18.    Insert  the OPPL distribution disk in your "A" disk drive  and
  19.    type:
  20.    
  21.          A:OPPL_EXE
  22.    
  23.    If  you  are using your "B" drive, substitute "B" for  "A"  in
  24.    the above command.

  27. INSTALLATION FROM BBS DOWNLOADS

  29.    The  OPPL program and data files must be installed on the same
  30.    drive  and  directory  as the OWL Personal  Portfolio  Manager
  31.    (OPPM)  program.   Copy  OPPL.EXE, OPPL.DBF,  OPPLCFG.DBF  and
  32.    OPPL.HLP  to the drive\directory where OPPM.EXE is  installed.
  33.    Example:   if you are currently using version 5.0 of OPPM  and
  34.    it is installed on C:\OPPM5 use the following commands:

  36.          COPY OPPL.EXE C:\OPPM5
  37.          COPY OPPL.DBF C:\OPPM5
  38.          COPY OPPLCFG.DBF C:\OPPM5
  39.          COPY OPPL.HLP C:\OPPM5

  44.    To  run OPPL set your default directory to the directory where
  45.    OPPL & OPPM are installed and type "OPPL".  Example:

  48.          CD \OPPM5

  52. USER's GUIDE

  54.    The  user's  guide  for the OWL Portfolio Price  Loader  built
  55.    into  the  program and is accessed by pressing the  F1  (Help)
  56.    key.   The  user's guide contains information that is critical
  57.    to  the  successful  operation of this program.   We  strongly
  58.    suggest that you read the user's guide.  The user's guide  may
  59.    be printed from DOS using the command:    COPY OPPL.HLP PRN:

  62. TROUBLE SHOOTING
  63.    
  64.    The  following  is  a  brief  list  of  errors  that  may   be
  65.    encountered and what to do about them.
  66.    
  67.    Out  of  Memory  or Low Memory:  You don't have enough  memory
  68.    below  640K to run the program.  If your computer has at least
  69.    512K  of RAM, you should be able to eliminate this problem  by
  70.    removing  memory resident programs (TSR'S) and device  drivers
  71.    (mouse drivers, network drivers, etc.) to free up memory.
  72.    
  73.    Program  Aborts with Message (DOS error 04):  This means  that
  74.    insufficient  DOS  file handles have been specified.   If  you
  75.    have  already added the line FILES=21 to your CONFIG.SYS  file
  76.    AND  rebooted your computer, try increasing the number  a  few
  77.    at  a  time.  Reboot your computer each time you increase  the
  78.    number.
  79.    
  80.    Program  Locks  up  or  screen becomes distorted:   The  mouse
  81.    display  software  in  OPPL  can  cause  problems  with   some
  82.    displays.   Adding  switches to the command  line  that  cause
  83.    OPPL  to  use  a non-graphic mouse cursor can sometimes  solve
  84.    this problem.  Try running OPPL with the following command:
  85.    
  86.          OPPL /nv /ng
  87.    
  88.    Mouse  doesn't work:  Your mouse driver is probably quite  old
  89.    and  out  of  date.  Contact your mouse vendor for an  updated
  90.    driver.
  91.    
  92.    Other  Errors:   If at any time you are unable  to  resolve  a
  93.    problem  with  this  program,  call  or  write  us  a   letter
  94.    explaining the nature of the problem.  Please also  include  a
  95.    description of your computer configuration including  any  TSR
  96.    programs which are installed.  Send all correspondence to:
